The 2024 Fall Ecosystem Builder Summit will be in the Bay Area from Wednesday, October 30 to Friday, November 1! Our homebase will be in Oakland, California, but we will get a chance to see the Bay Area ecosystem as a whole. This continuation of our 10 Year Anniversary Celebration will include all of your favorite summit activities. Join us for 2.5 days across 3 cities in the Bay Area (Richmond, San Francisco, Oakland) to meet changemakers, ecosystem builders, capital stewards, entrepreneurs and policymakers focused on creating new models for the Next Economy.

Summit Theme // Reimagine: Building Community Power

The Summit will center on building community power, which is essential for the success of entrepreneurial ecosystems. This Summit aims to transform fragmented, isolated efforts into a cohesive, regenerative network that sustains and amplifies our collective success. By uniting ecosystem builders from across the nation, the Summit will explore how different regions, from Richmond and East Oakland to San Francisco and beyond, can support each other's work, pool resources, and advocate for greater systemic change. The Bay Area's unique blend of Silicon Valley innovation and Oakland's community-driven economics demonstrates how to balance economic vitality and social benefit. The Startup Champions Network, recognized for its collaborative spirit and grassroots approach to inclusive economic development, offers a platform to challenge the dominance of monopolistic platforms and support the resurgence of small businesses and startup ecosystems. While one Summit won't solve every challenge, it will spark essential conversations, paving the way for a more connected and sustainable entrepreneurial future.

Startup Champions Network Summits

Twice annually, Startup Champion Network members meet in-person to connect, share knowledge/experiences and take a deep, behind-the-scenes dive into the local host ecosystem.  This personal interaction is a critical part of the member value-proposition as well as an important commitment all members make -- to celebrate each other.

These 2.5 day intimate gatherings bring together the nation's top ecosystem builders and national ecosystem support organizations to convene conversations, gain insight from real world case studies, and explore and experience new communities, against the backdrops of some of the nation's top emerging ecosystems. Summits address topics most relevant-to and of interest-to members, such as inclusive entrepreneurship, fostering collaboration, engaging and empowering under-represented populations, and more.

Travel & Accomodations

Getting to Oakland

We recommend flying into San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. From there, you can take an Uber, Lyft, or use the BART to get into town.

Lodging

Our home base will be in Oakland, so we recommend booking a hotel or airbnb in/near downtown Oakland. We have secured a courtesy hotel block at Moxy Downtown Oakland, which has a great vibe and reasonable rates. Use this courtesy block link to book a 3 night stay (check-in Tuesday, 10/29 and check-out Friday 11/1) at Moxy Oakland Downtown. The rate is available for a limited amount of rooms at $144.55 per night with taxes and fees included.

Rides & Rooms Spreadsheet

Every Summit, we create a spreadsheet for attendees to coordinate rides and room sharing. If you're looking to share a hotel room or airbnb with a large group, this is a great place to start. If you want to carpool from the airport or hope some kind soul will give you a ride, this is the place to do it! While we don't link this spreadsheet to the public website, it is sent via email upon summit registration.
